Turquoise Teal Necklaces -✿- By A Closet In Delirium and Novapsis

These teal necklaces make the most of this beautiful stone with bright flashes of teal over a heavily veined pattern in yellow to green to blue. The lapidary term for this stone is Yellow Turquoise, but those of us who are rock lovers would know it as a Serpentine mix. In its natural state it has a yellow background with veins that range from black to gray with a few streaks of white mixed in. Whoever ingeniously decided to dye these stones blue for jewelry making came up with one of the most interesting color variations while creating a beautiful overall teal hue. It's the perfect match for so many shades of green, blue and yellow (how many stones look this good with chartreuse?), so it's ideal for go-to jewelry.

While the front of this necklace design is loaded with chunky pieces of yellow turquoise, the back uses round magnesite beads for optimal comfort. These teal necklaces are approximately 21 inches long with a silver plated toggle closure. The necklaces are strung on a coated steel cable for durability.

Since all jewelry is delivered in a gift box, it will arrive ready for you to give in person or you can have it mailed directly to the recipient. If mailing directly to the recipient, you will have the option of adding a personalized note in the "Customer Message" box during checkout.  Your message will appear on the packing slip for the recipient (all packing slips are price-free).

All Novapsis jewelry is handmade by US Artisans, so each of these Turquoise Teal necklaces is truly unique.

For these Teal Necklaces:
♪ A Note on Yellow Turquoise ♪
Commonly called yellow "turquoise" because it occurs in the same mines as turquoise, this natural material is actually a blend of various serpentine, quartz and jasper. Sometimes called Chinese Turquoise, its popularity is beginning to rival the more traditional blue turquoise particularly when dyed blue itself. These stones are natural and will vary in color and pattern, but all are beautiful.

♪ A Note on Magnesite ♪
Magnesite has the same crystal structure as Calcite with a texture and pattern that's very similar to Turquoise. Because of the similar pattern and the porous nature of the stone that allows it to be easily dyed, it can be mistaken for Turquoise, and some jewelers will even sell dyed Turquoise Magnesite as actual Turquoise (something to watch for if you collect Turquoise jewelry!). Magnesite typically comes from the Western US, and because it is easily carved, it was historically used by Native Americans for both beads and currency.
